An intriguing story, great writing teamwork!
By Marcia K
I'll preface this review by saying that I'm not a frequent Sci-fi reader, having encountered too many books in the genre that lacked depth and/or the level of writing quality that I want from 'my' authors. Then I'll let you know that I have read and thoroughly enjoyed every book in the Plague Wars series and in the Stellar Conquest series that follows it.

EDEN'S EXODUS is a really well-structured story, with lots of subtle machinations on every level from interpersonal to international relationships. I can understand why a few readers - those looking for lots of overt action - might find the early chapters boring as the storyline shifts from character to character and location to location while building towards the climactic eponymous "Exodus", because much of the "action" in this story is happening in the cerebral realms of diplomacy, intelligence operatives, and the new-world politics that have come about due to the polarized divide regarding the effects of the Eden Plague.

The story revolves around this kind of action, which is every bit as serious as battlefield conflict despite playing out in diplomatic circles. I found the building tensions surrounding the rescue scenario fully engaging, and everything in the story meshes - there's not much "fluff" as my husband calls it. Followers of the series should find this "between the books" story very interesting, and I hope those who encounter it as their first book in the Plague Wars series will be as hooked as I've become. David VanDyke sent me a free Advance Review Copy of this book in exchange for an honest review, and it's been my pleasure both to preview the book and to post my thoughts and comments. VanDyke and King make a great storytelling team.

Just as I expected - another winner!
By Janice Mann
I admit that I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. However, I had already pre-ordered it, just as I will always do for any book by David VanDyke, and I have let the purchase go through so that I can support a great writer.

What I especially like about finding a series by any really good author is that, after reading three or so books in the series, I then will go back and re-read them, back to back, before going on to the next one. I get so much more when I do this - finding things I missed and getting to know the characters even better.

The only thing that might be considered a "negative" when reading Mr. VanDyke's books is that the laundry might not make it into the washing machine, the dishes might not make it out of the sink, and groceries may not appear to fill the empty spaces in the refrigerator. But I have solved all of those problems. I keep a stash of older clothes in the closet; I have a second set of dishes handy; and phone numbers for places that deliver are prominently displayed under a magnet on the frig. Oh yes, and I never forget the wise and very useful words - "Don't bother me - I'm reading."

Get this book. Get the whole series. I know you will be happy that you did. And practice those words!!!

A Good Read!
By Magnus
First I want to let any potential readers know that I received this book for free in exchange for a review of the book. With that said, I would have purchased the book as I have every other book in this series and the companion series Stellar Conquest.

This book ties develops a couple characters in the series that make it worth read. First there is the infamous Skull, and then there is Cassandra. Both play important parts in this universe and the added depth to their characters was welcome. While this book was not as fast paced as many in this series it was full of depth and intrigue and gives insight into how the world and its power brokers might change if something like the Eden Virus was released.

I do not buy many books because there seems to be and endless supply from would be writers who have some really good ideas in them that main stream publishing just does not seem to be interested in. With that said I do not regret purchasing any of the novels in these series because I was thoroughly entertained and satisfied with the story line.

David VanDyke is a natural and its to our benefit that some major publishing house has not swiped him from the ranks of Amazon authors. I'd love to see this series turned into a TV series. It would be at least as good as Game of Thrones.
