Great guide

Marketing a product is not that simple it needs effective strategy. As I notice the new trend of doing product marketing is thru the internet. You can have a website of your own or use the social media website. As for me I want to use the social media because there are over a million of users worldwide that can be a possible consumer of my product.

So I search for a book that can possibly give me an idea about social media marketing and I am happy that I found this book. It contains information that helped me develop strategies in doing marketing. I learned from this book that it is better that you know your target customer and post advertisement to accurate social media. A lot of tips in doing marketing unto Facebook is also included in this book. The context of the book is explained in a simple manner that everyone can easily understand and follow. I recommend this book to those who wants to start doing a marketing advertisement thru Facebook.

A VERY COMPREHENSIVE GUIDE TO FACEBOOK MARKETING!

I am actually new to using the internet and social media 'as' marketing techniques. I am in the very beginning stages of planning my own small business and from loads of sources (including books) I have found that the social media is THE most successful, efficient and affordable method for marketing. I checked out another book that detailed YouTube, intsagram, twitter and Facebook together as the best sources of social media. It said that based on a study, Facebook is a better source, not saying I should ignore others, but my attention should mostly focus on Facebook for marketing purposes.

I actually got some more superb ideas for my planning here. One idea I really liked and agree with was the idea of reflecting reality as often as possible in my posts. I.e. being a part of charity events, parades and other such events makes the profile look good. Also include some humor, to make it more organic. Actually, it says here, that being organic is what builds the reputation of the business of Facebook. And I agree!

What came as most useful for my purpose in purchasing this book were chapter 3 and 4; chapter 3 on the useful tools and features for Facebook marketing and chapter 4 on content marketing. The Big No Nos are equally helpful. It included some practical details I didn’t give much about.

About the Author

Bruce Lee flashed like a meteor through the world of martial arts and motion pictures. Then, on July 20, 1973, the iconic figure died in Hong Kong at the age of 32. Lee began his martial arts studies with wing chun, under the tutelage of the late Yip Man. Because of his intense training and study, he was eventually able to refine, distill and mature into a philosopher, technician and innovator of the martial arts.

After intensively studying various martial arts styles and theories, Lee developed a concept that he later called jeet kune do, the way of the intercepting fist. Jeet kune do was born not only out of his physical training and personal research--his martial arts library contained more than 2,000 books--but his formal education as a philosophy major at the University of Washington, Seattle, as well.

Lee also combined his martial arts expertise with the acting skills he developed as a child in Hong Kong, starring in several motion pictures: The Big Boss, Fists of Fury, Way of the Dragon and Enter the Dragon.

A longtime aikido practitioner, Mito Uyehara founded Black Belt magazine in 1961 and served as the owner for more than 30 years. During Black Belt's early years, Uyehara studied jeet kune do under Bruce Lee.

An excellent reference source for those who are interested in Bruce Lee's Jeet Kune Do techniques.

This is the fourth volume in the Bruce Lee's Fighting Method series. I strongly suggest you read the previous three volumes(Self-Defense Techniques, basic Training and Skill in Techniques)to better understand this book. For most of my life I have seriously trained in numerous martial arts and (Judo, Karate, Jujitsu, Kobudo, Kenjutsu, Krav Maga, Combatives and Police Defensive Tactics) many weapon systems. I have also been interested in Bruce Lee's Jeet Kune Do, having trained with someone who was a student of a Jeet Kune Do instructor many years ago.

This excellent book focuses on improving your basic Jeet Kune Do skills covered in previous volumes. The first two chapters explain simple and compound attacks, feinting with the leading hand, timing, straight left to the body, proper use of the backfist, hook punch and uppercut. The next two chapters cover attacks with kicks, showing how to lead with the shin and knee kicks, powerful side kick, how to feint with a kick, the hook, spin and sweep kicks. Defense and counter methods are also taught showing how to counter-attack using various methods such as stop-hit with punch or kicks. The final chapter teaches how to use speed, attitude, and how to deal with mechanical and intelligent fighters.

In conclusion, this book along with the other three volumes will give you a solid basic background which when combined with training under a certified Jeet Kune Do instructor, will make you a better fighter.

its all here! bruce lee had 4 volumes to his fighting method books, and now there all here in this complete edition. in this 483 page book, you are taught by bruce himself and his assistant proper exercises to assist a fighter, all the essentials of jeet kune do-stance, strikes, blocks, kicks,parrying, feinting, drawing,attacks and even strategies against various attacks on the street, all with pictures of bruce and his assistant illustrating step by step. this is jeet kune do, the fighting style bruce lee invented for practical self deffense. in the movies, bruce lee was flashy, high kicks with lightening speed and really showed what he was made of. but he understood that many martial art techniques were not practical for actual street combat, where one must be ready for whatever may come. chapter 19 's into says "in this chapter some of the approaches by the attacker may seem irrational. But, as Lee himself said, 'there are many irrational people on the streets today.' '' thats just as true today as it was in the 60's when these volumes were put together, so study this book close, learn from the greatest martial artist of the 20th century. and also dont forget the Tao of Jeet Kune Do, which is the very essence of the art,and the perfect compliment to this book. both books: excellent, 5 stars

Must-read for any and every JKD practitioner.

A must-read for every JKD practitioner. While the Tao of Jeet Kune Do is still the "Bible" I would actually recommend beginning students of JKD to read this book first. It's a bit more text book-y and easier to read than the Tao, since you're probably more used to a text book-y writing style than how the Tao is written (more of a collection of notes). After you get a better understanding of the art (maybe 6 months in?) then I'd go back and read the Tao. I think you'll get more out of it in that order. But that's just one person's opinion.

Artists and filmmakers in the early twentieth century reshaped our vision of the American West. In particular, the Taos Society of Artists and the California-based artist Maynard Dixon departed from the legendary depiction of the “Wild West” and fostered new images, or brands, for western art. This volume, illustrated with more than 150 images, examines select paintings and films to demonstrate how these artists both enhanced and contradicted earlier representations of the West.

Prior to this period, American art tended to portray the West as a wild frontier with untamed lands and peoples. Renowned artists such as Henry Farny and Frederic Remington set their work in the past, invoking an environment immersed in conflict and violence. This trademark perspective began to change, however, when artists enamored with the Southwest stamped a new imprint on their paintings.

The contributors to this volume illuminate the complex ways in which early-twentieth-century artists, as well as filmmakers, evoked a southwestern environment not just suspended in time but also permanent rather than transient. Yet, as the authors also reveal, these artists were not entirely immune to the siren call of the vanishing West, and their portrayal of peaceful yet “exotic” Native Americans was an expansion rather than a dismissal of earlier tropes. Both brands cast a romantic spell on the West, and both have been seared into public consciousness.

OMG! There are literally no words for how good this book is! Seriously, this book is definitely in like my top 5 list of all time favorites! This book is Cruel Intentions, Mean Girls, Gossip Girl, Heathers and any other movie/show you can think of that has evil malicious backstabbing girls in it.

Zara never stood a chance from the moment she stepped foot on the campus of Birchtree Academy. It was pretty apparent from the beginning that Lizzie had it out for her. But you were never sure of why. And there are moments when you begin to question if maybe you have misjudged her. Then there is Oliver. It seemed from the moment he met Zara on the train he was intrigued by her. But there is no way "The Playboy of Birchtree" could be interested in her as anything more than another notch in his bedpost. And lastly, I must mention Damien because any hot guy with a tattoo deserves mentioning! He was so sweet with Zara. I was honestly rooting for him from the moment he was introduced. This book moves at a quick pace so it will suck you in from the beginning and you seriously will not be able to put it down because you are gonna have to know what happens next! Some secrets are revealed at the end but this is a series so of course we don't get all the loose ends tied up yet.

I don't want to say anymore because t do not want to give away anything. Trust me this is a book you HAVE to read! There is drama, mystery and even some pretty smokin' hot smexy scenes! I am dying to read more of this series!

WOW...That's all I can say about this book. Just Wow! 4.5 Stars!! This book is what you would get if Cruel Intentions and Mean Girls got together and had an evil child. There is so much deceit and so many lies and DRAMA and two faced people, and I loved every minute of it. There are so many twists and turns that I'm surprised the characters didn't get whip lash and you never knew who to trust. Someone was always out to get someone else. I was hooked from the beginning and can't wait for the second book to be released.

Zara Smart is sent to live with her father, while her mom goes to Brazil for a job opportunity for two years. Her father is the new principal at Birchtree Academy, making it Zara's new home and she is not happy about it. Birchtree Academy is more like a castle than a boarding school. Once she arrives she is assigned a tour guide, Lizzie Nixon, who is also the previous principals daughter. Lizzie seems really nice and wants to be Zara's best friend, she tells Zara that nobody else at the school has the same values that the two of them share and because of that they need to stick together. Zara's roommate, Paige who is rude, mean and hateful is also Lizzie's best friend. Paige makes it known that she doesn't like Zara and never will. The first day of classes she meets Lizzie's twin brother, Oliver.
Oliver acts like he can't stand Zara, he is either mean to her or he ignores her. Then out of the blue he wants to be her friend. Instead of using her head and thinking something is up with this weird behavior she agrees to be his friend, he is the hottest guy she has ever seen. They start studying together then spending time together just hanging out. Oliver is constantly pulling her in and then pushing her away. Zara has been warned by a few people to stay away from the Nixon twins, that they are up to something, that they are evil, that they will destroy her, but Zara refuses to believe it. Once tragedy strikes the school, Zara begins to question Lizzie's motives, but continues to be her friend. Then everything starts spinning out of control and secrets are being told and lies are being spread and Zara doesn't know who to trust. Lizzie is her best friend and Oliver is her friend/sort of boyfriend and they would never do anything to hurt her, right?

When I began reading Laced In Malice I could not have predicted where author Riley Gray was going to take me. In fact, I'm not sure where I ended up. I love that she had this suspense aspect to the story that my mind was doing somersaults trying to find which way was up cuz it just got completely handled. When I got done with the final words, I sat there thinking 1--WTF just happened? and 2--WTF just happened? I was convinced I was Team Oliver, yet then again I'm not so sure. No, I must be Team Oliver right?
Riley Gray did a fabulous job of hooking you into the story from the get go. She didn't let up either. I kept turning the pages trying to figure out what was going to happen next. I like to think of myself as a great problem solver. Well Riley Gray shook that confidence out of me and stomped on it. Right when I thought I had it all figured out, Ms. Gray decided to switch it up and go left. She had great character development where you really thought you knew the characters but she made them so multi faceted that I honestly don't think that she wanted you to be able to figure everything out. And there lies the beauty and brilliance of Laced In Malice. I think that you can take the story and run with it. You can decide what the sequence of events means in the end. You can decide the true intentions of individual characters.
Amongst all this brain labor, Riley Gray distracts you with gorgeous book boys who steal your heart. Oliver is a delicious a**hat who you want to slap yet let him have your way with you. I teetered on a fine line with him but I think in the end, he came out on top and he is so on my book boyfriend list.
The female characters of Laced In Malice make me want to spit evil words and slash every designer top in their closet. Definite mean girls--that have their own chapter on how to be one. Lizzie was the ultimate bitch. She was the ideal antagonist and the character that draws you in with her callous and devious ways.

Loosely drawn black-and-white sketches highlight Sam’s moods, including his eventual excitement as he finally manages to reel in the big one. Wissinger identifies each poem format, from haiku, ode, and double dactyl to blues poem, counting poem, and list poem, and even includes poems told in multiple voices. Tamera Will Wissinger writes poetry and stories for children. She earned her B.A. degree in English from Sioux Falls College, and her M.F.A. degree in Writing from Hamline University. She is the author of GONE FISHING: A Novel in Verse and THIS OLD BAND.  www.tamerawillwissinger.com

Clever book

What a great way to engage non-readers.
This story is about a dad who takes his son fishing...but, wait...the annoying sister wants to go, too.
At the end of the day, it all works out.
But, it's the STYLE of the chapter book that makes this fun to read.
Each "chapter" is a poem...Under the poem title is the type of poem (which the author defines at the back of the book).
And...trust me...the poems are quite clever.
Illustrations are nicely done, too.
Author also provides brief information about writing poems at the back of the book, which is neat!
My boys (ages 5-12) really like this book.
We don't own a lot of books -- only the ones we tend to borrow from the library repeatedly.
This would also be great as a gift.
Buy it!

FUN!!!

Tamera Wissinger's novel-in-verse GONE FISHING is one of the funnest books I've read all year! Following Sam, a boy whose fishing trip with his father seems doomed when his sister Lucy finagles her way into joining, the story is made up of poems of various forms, all used inventively to strike different moods, from funny to disappointment to triumph.

The fun of this book--and the virtuosity of Wissinger's language--are captured well by the first two stanzas of "A Fishy Spell," a curse poem in Sam's voice. Sam has just found Lucy playing with all of his fishing things, and here is his reaction: "May a worm crawl up your nose, / Leeches creep between your toes. / May your nails be caked with dirt. / Maybe a bug fly up your skirt." What humor, what tone, what whimsy!

Kids who love fishing, humor, and fun will ADORE this book! These poems would also work wonderfully in the classroom--they're elegant, fluent, and fun, perfect for reading aloud (indeed, some of the poems are even meant for multiple voices!).

Great introduction to poetry

This is a great book to celebrate and learn various forms of poetry. I used it with two classes that were not thrilled that I was so excited about Poetry and they ended up enjoying it. The story is well developed and flows easily. Some of the poems are more enjoyable than others but on the whole the book is well written and some parts are very funny. I even had a request from a teacher to use this book again with her class next year.

About the Author
Joel Samaha is University Distinguished Teaching Professor of Sociology at the University of Minnesota, where he teaches Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure. He received his B.A. (History), J.D., and Ph.D. (History) from Northwestern University and studied under Sir Geoffrey Elton at Cambridge University, England. Professor Samaha was admitted to the Illinois Bar, briefly practiced law in Chicago, and then taught at UCLA. In 1971, he joined the University of Minnesota, where he served as Chair of the Department of Criminal Justice Studies for four years, taught television and radio courses in criminal justice, co-taught a National Endowment for the Humanities seminar in legal and constitutional history, was named College of Liberal Arts Distinguished Teacher in 1974, and named University Distinguished Teaching Professor in 2007. Professor Samaha's works have appeared in Historical Journal, American Journal of Legal History, Minnesota Law Review, William Mitchell Law Review, and Journal of Social History.

Good Luck

This will sound childish, but the thing I hate about this book is the fact that it does not have any pictures whatsoever. Secondly the information could be trimmed down significantly, but instead it repeats itself on and on and on... and on. If you have to read this book for your college course all I gotta say is good luck.

Really valuable book.

This book is full of fascinating discussions of court rulings that changed American law. Professor Samaha publishes new editions so that he can update the court cases and keep the book current. As a professor, Joel Samaha is extremely down to Earth, and strongly opinionated. I think both characteristics come across in his book, but regardless of whether you share his opinions, this text will help you understand both sides of the arguments and form your own judgements. Even though I had to buy this hardcover new, it was worth the money and I am not selling it.

Typos and political agenda

There were quite a few typos in the book. For the cost of the text, I would have expected better editing. The author's politic agenda and attitude in regard to certain topics is evident in his writing. I feel his one-sided approach to some topics is not conducive to learning in an acedemic setting.
